COPPER RECOVERY PLANT FROM ELECTRONIC SCRAPS

COPPER RECOVERY PLANT FROM ELECTRONIC SCRAPS
Production
• Product : copper 92÷94% purity in granules.
• By product : epoxy resin with fibreglass.
Raw material
Scraps from copper laminated sheet for the electronic industries boards.
Process description
The process has been developed in order to recovery the copper contained in the above raw material by a completely dry process, using mechanical equipment without any solvent and any chemicals.
The operation is made with the following step:
Premilling
The raw material collected in containers or in big bag are fed to a first mill in order to reduce the material at 10÷15 mm of dimension.
The material from the mill are conveyed, by a belt conveyor to storage silos.
Milling
From the above silos the premilled product is fed to a continuous special mill for a further granulation to reduced dimension, in which occur a separation of copper granules from the resin.
Separation
The mixture made by copper granules and resin is fed to a gravimetric separator, from which the copper granules are separated and conveyed to the storage.
From the separator unit the epoxy resin, rich of fibreglass, is conveyed in big bags for storage.
Dust collection
All the equipment are maintained under little negative pressure, in order that all the dust are collected in a filtration unit, in order to avoid pollution problem in the working area.
